Groningen is a young, progressive city. Yet much of the municipal communication still takes place by letter and digital services lag behind. This makes contact unnecessarily slow and cumbersome. Student & Stad wants a modern municipality that uses digital channels, communicates clearly, and handles privacy carefully. Especially now that AI has more and more influence, Groningen must set a good example.

DIGITALIZATION & PRIVACY
We offer residents several ways to get in touch and enable completely digital communication for those who want it. This way, there is more time available for people who need help via phone, at the counter, or by letter.
We write municipal communication in understandable language and give residents the opportunity to send back letters or emails that are not at B1 level.
We make privacy a significant factor in projects and have an independent ethical committee advise on technologies such as AI.
We are exploring an independent cloud solution to gain more control, better security, and flexibility over municipal data.
We are taking advantage of the arrival of the AI-factory in the old Niemeyer building for jobs, collaboration with knowledge institutions, and technology that directly benefits the people of Groningen.
We are expanding the municipality's social media with short, clear updates and developing a central municipal app.
