Young people and divorced men are more often ending up on the streets due to the shortage of affordable housing. Additionally, in the city center, the nuisance caused by people with misunderstood or confused behavior is growing. Student & Stad believes that no one in Groningen should be left to their fate. We provide shelter, support, and real solutions that address the root causes.

HOMELESSNESS
We provide sufficient space in all shelters and appropriate support for the homeless and people with misunderstood behaviour.
We are making significant efforts to prevent and address youth homelessness. We are investigating whether it is also desirable in Groningen to start a youth shelter based on the Project010 model in Rotterdam where young people receive a safe place to live, support from professionals, and a modest budget to rebuild their lives.
We are doing everything possible to resolve the housing crisis as quickly as possible, so that affordable and suitable housing is available for everyone in Groningen. For more see our chapter on 'Affordable, suitable housing'↗.
